NuWest Builders makes a statement with concrete
Modern design dominates this home from nuWest Builders
The striking power of concrete and modern design come through in this home from nuWest Builders.
The Whitefish-based company used a bold approach in creating this home near Columbia Falls, Montana, and with the help of two other Whitefish companies, Timber Forge Design and Piney Creek Interiors, the home is an example of taking risks that can pay off in home design. Nuwest Builders built the home as a spec home, with the vision of a new homeowner who would fall in love with it.
“The sole vision of this design was to give the future owner the feeling of having rented a luxury suite when they walked into any room in the house,” nuWest Builders owner Eric Payne said. “We believe the team achieved exactly that and opened up many other potential buyers to this style of design, versus the more traditional home that has dominated the region for some time.”
Payne said there was a challenge in using new products that many builders or contractors had not used in this market, but the house came through as a success.
The features and finishes were chosen by the builder, who focused on using concrete throughout the home. “Concrete is a material used for decades throughout the world, but has been slow to come to use on interior or exterior residential finishes in northwest Montana,” Payne said. “The beauty of raw concrete, along with other finishes, is striking. It adds a completely different vibe to the home.”
