Looking Back: Marent Trestle

train history in montana, marent trestle, evaro hill, missoula railroad, montana living

Northern Pacific Railroad workers stand next to a steam engine and car on the Marent Gulch trestle near Evaro Hill outside of Missoula. This photo was taken in 1883, the year the trestle was built. The 226-feet-tall trestle is still used today, although it's been rebuilt, for passenger and freight traffic out of Missoula.
