Dedication and Artist Reception, April 21, 4:30-7:30 PM, Missoula Art Park

Missoula Art Museum, the City of Missoula, and Adventure Cycling invite the public to the dedication of the brand new Missoula Art Park with a ceremonial tree planting and an artist reception to follow. Chicago artist Chris Pappan uses 19th century photographs and ledgers to make contemporary portraits inspired by underground comix, punk, and skateboard culture. Pappan grew up in Flagstaff, Arizona, and studied at the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Learn more >>

ART EXPRESSIONS: WILLARD ALTERNATIVE HIGH SCHOOL

Willard Alternative High School is a school of choice to 150 creative teenagers. The art featured in this exhibit will be selected by a team of students to represent the diversity of backgrounds, interests, and skills of students throughout the year. MAM is thrilled to welcome Sheila Miles back to Missoula with a one-woman exhibition of new paintings. Join us for a special First Friday reception honoring Miles, and a gallery talk at 7 PM. Live music provided by KBGA. Thank you to the Missoulian for sponsoring First Fridays at MAM.
