The holiday season is in full swing when a gentleman with twinkling eyes, an ample belly, and a snowy beard is hired as Santa at a Macy’s department store. He claims his name is Kris Kringle and he soon fills everyone with Christmas spirit...except his boss, Doris Walker. But when Kringle is declared insane and put on trial, everyone’s faith is put to the test as young and old alike face the age-old question: Do you believe in Santa Claus? Adapted from the cherished 1947 film, “A Miracle on 34th Street” promises to bring the joy and true magic of the holiday season to the stage.
Valeri McGarvey is the director of this production. The cast will include 30 to 40 people. Adults of all ages are encouraged to audition, along with youth that are 7 years old or older. No experience is necessary and no preparation is required for the audition.
Rehearsals will begin the week of October 16th for a total time commitment of eight weeks. There are nine performances over two weekends on December 7-10 and 15-17. Instead of running this show over three weekends as WTC has done in the past, there will two shows (a matinee and evening performance) on Saturdays of each show weekend.
