Exhibitions Opening at Zootown Arts Collaborative

 

Freedom Within the Frame:  The Montana Art Therapy Association returns to the ZACC Gallery for a second year to showcase their traveling art exhibit featuring art from art therapists around Montana. This year's theme is "Freedom Within the Frame."

 

Diane Olhoeft: Welcome watercolor artist Diane Olhoeft to ZACC's Hallway Gallery!

Symphony in the Park

 

The Missoula Symphony Orchestra returns to Caras Park on Sunday, August 14, at 7:00 PM for its annual Symphony in the Park concert. Music Director Darko Butorac will lead the orchestra through a lively program of movie scores, dance numbers and light classics. Food and beverage may be purchased from on-site vendors and lawn chairs are encouraged. Missoula High School Actors Perform at the China Children's Theatre Festival

 

Can you "seek a sword from a notch on a boat?" Is it necessary to "teach a fish how to swim?" And there are consequences to "being there just to make up a number?" These ancient idiom stories have long been part of the repertoire of the China National Theatre for Children. And now a group of American high schoolers is presenting their version of these tales at this year's China Children's Theatre Festival -- in Chinese! Watch the news clip here!

 

 

Drawn to Broadway at MCT Center for the Performing Arts

 

Are you Drawn to Broadway?  Then you'll be drawn to MCT this week as 177 talented teenagers present this lively musical show.  The culmination of the Missoula Children's Theatre's Performing Arts Camp (PAC), you and the family can enjoy the air-conditioned theatre on Thursday at 8 PM, Friday at 5 & 8 PM and Saturday at 1 & 4 PM.  From comics to super heroes to historical icons, the show brings to life familiar characters and stories with song, dance and tons of fun! The Missoula International Friendship Program (MIFP) is seeking volunteer families, couples and single people to become Community Friends to a growing number of international students and scholars who will begin studies at the University of Montana this fall. This is NOT a home stay and Community Friends have no financial obligations for the students or scholars. Employing the Visual Thinking Strategies approach, Art Guides reach audiences by helping them learn to look at, appreciate, and respond to contemporary art.
