Clark Fork farmers market in Missoula opens May 6
Missoula farmers market features variety of vendors and music
Where can you catch shrimp in Montana?
Starting May 6 you can catch it at the Clark Fork River Market, a fun and lively farmers market in downtown Missoula.
Every Saturday beginning in May, the Clark Fork River Market will provide a fun place to buy fresh fruits and vegetables, meat and fish, baked goods and honey, and more — including fresh shrimp raised in Montana. And all of these products are locally grown, harvested, and baked from area farmers, ranchers and chefs. Last year, more than 100 vendors and musicians participated in the market.
New to the Clark Fork Market is Mission Valley Shrimp Farm, a local aquaculture business in Charlo, that will now offer fresh, sustainably raised shrimp.
Jim Vaughan, a Mission Valley native, said Mission Valley Shrimp Farm uses a closed-loop aquaculture system to raise saltwater Pacific white shrimp.
The Clark Fork River Market is at 101 Carousel Drive in the parking lot adjacent to A Carousel for Missoula. The Clark Fork River Market is currently taking applications for vendors and musicians.
