Fifty-four MSU students will compete against athletes from nine other regional teams during the annual event
BOZEMAN — From bareback to bull riding, there's something for everyone at the 2019 Montana State University Spring Rodeo.
The rodeo begins at 7 p.m. Thursday with performance rounds. On Friday, slack begins at 10 a.m., with the performance at 7 p.m. On Saturday the performance round begins at 7 p.m. On Sunday, slack gets underway at 8 a.m., with performance rounds at 2 p.m.
The four-day rodeo will feature 54 MSU students participating in the men’s and women’s Bobcat Rodeo teams. The MSU teams compete against nine other regional teams: University of Montana, UM Western, Great Falls College MSU, Miles Community College, Glendive Community College, Rocky Mountain College, Blackfeet Community College, MSU Northern and Northwest College.
Andy Bolich, coach of the MSU rodeo team, urged local fans to come out and support the MSU teams.
“The women’s team was first after the fall season and the men’s second, so there are some good athletes,” he said.
In addition, Bolich said new arena panels donated by Harrington Pepsi will debut at the MSU Spring Rodeo. And, for the first time this year, the performances will be streamed live by Montana PBS.
Ticket prices range from $6 to $13 for students (age 7-college), $13 to $16 for general admission, and $17 to $19 for reserved seating. All Sunday tickets before 1 p.m. are $6. Children 6 years and under are free.
