2019 Big Sky State Games opens

34th annual Big Sky State Games welcomes athletes of all ages

Break out your inner athlete.

Registration is open for the 34th Annual Big Sky State Games.

Most sports fall on the weekend of July 19-21 in Billings. This Olympic-style multi-sport festival for participants of all ages and skill levels draws 10,000 competitors each year. Elite, junior, senior and recreational athletes compete for medals in 36 sports.

Online registration is available at bigskygames.org along with complete registration information, accommodation information and event details. Entry booklets for the Big Sky State Games are available at the following locations:  First Interstate Bank(Belgrade, Billings, Bozeman, Colstrip, Eureka, Gardiner, Great Falls, Hamilton, Hardin, Helena, Kalispell, Lame Deer, Livingston, Miles City, Missoula, Polson, Red Lodge, and Whitefish), Wendy's (Billings, Bozeman, Butte, Great Falls, Helena, Kalispell, Miles City, and Missoula), Gainan's (Billings), Scheels (Billings and Great Falls).

The majority of the sports offered by the Big Sky State Games have a July 1 registration and T-shirt deadline. Early sign up by July 1 is encouraged to ensure the best price.  

 

Events that fall outside the main State Games weekend include (all Billings locations unless noted):

  • New Event: Scholastic Girl's Grass 4v4 Volleyball, June 1 and July 27, at Rose Park.

  • Fencing, June 1, in Bozeman at Bozeman Fencing Association.

  • Shooting 5 -Stand, July 27, at Blue Creek Sport Shooting Complex.

  • Shooting Sport Clays, July 27, at Blue Creek Sport Shooting Complex.

  • Shooting- Cowboy Action, July 27, and Wild Bunch, July 28, at the Billings Rod and Gun Club.

  • Skeet Shooting, (non-registered) July 28, Blue Creek Sport Shooting Complex.

  • Scholastic Volleyball (Grades 9-12) qualifying tournaments are June 15 and 16 in Great Falls at University of Providence, and July 19 in Billings at Senior High School and Billings YMCA.

  • Swimming/Open Water, June 29, at Lake Elmo State Park.

  • Swimming, July 12-14, in Helena at Last Chance Splash Waterpark.

  • Billiards, July 13, at Eagles Lodge for Adult and Boys and Girls Club for Youth.

  • Equestrian- Jumping and Dressage, July 13 and 14, at White Aspen Ranch.

  • Summer Biathlon and Mountain Bike Biathlon, July 14, at Crosscut Mountain Sports Center near Bozeman.

  • Golf Juniors Individual, July 15, at Lake Hills Golf Course.

New Sports joining the weekend of the Big Sky State Games include:

  • Cornhole, July 20, at Billings SportsPlex.

 The States Games Opening Ceremony is Friday, July 19 at Wendy's Field at Daylis Stadium in Billings.
