Chorale to perform 'O Primavera'
Montana State University’s spring choral concert, “O Primavera,” will take place at the Warren Miller Performing Arts Center in Big Sky at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, in cooperation with the Big Sky choral community.
The free public concert will feature a wide variety of repertoire. The MSU Chorale will perform works by Britten, Runestad, Hogan and Wilberg. The Montanans will perform selections from Lauridsen’s “Fire Songs” and a work by MSU student William Isbell.
The Lone Peak High School A Cappella Choir, under the direction of John Zirkle, will also perform.
All choirs will combine to sing American composer, David Dickau’s “If Music Be the Food of Love” to close the program. The piece is a setting of Henry Heveningham’s poem, which shares its first line with Shakespeare’s sonnet that opens “Twelfth Night.”
