Montana Health Journal's HealthX Expo in Kalispell
Spring Health Expo 2016
May 7 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Red Lion Hotel, Kalispell
The Montana Health Journal is hosting its fifth annual spring Health Expo, coming to the Red Lion Hotel May 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
We are proud to share the important message and story of our keynote speaker, Montana farmer Jim Barngrover, an organic farmer and co-owner of the Timeless Natural Food company who has worked tirelessly as an agricultural activist for over 30 years. The story of the creation of Timeless Natural Food was featured in the popular book “Lentil Undeground”, and Jim will share the truths about politics, policies and perversions in American agriculture, that has degraded our soils, air, water, and our bodies. He will also talk about the growing impact of the grassroots sustainable food systems movement and how it is starting to reverse the trend.
Other important talks will be given by Dr. Chip Halverson from Selah Natural Medicine on the critical role microbiome plays in our digestive system, which is also the foundation of our immune system. It is interesting to learn that our soils are also made up of microbiome; living organisms that make it possible for plants to thrive. Microbiome in both our soils and bodies is degraded by the chemicals that modern America uses so prolifically in farming practices and modern packaged food. Author of “Cookin’ Up Good Vibrations”, Miriam Katz will talk on delicious ways to eat local throughout the year, store local foods for the winter, and why eating seasonal local foods optimizes our bodies. This fun and informative event includes over 35 health vendors, home gardening tips and vendors, speakers on a variety of health topics, and a wealth of ideas for healing and thriving through our vibrant local holistic health community.
