International Wildlife Film Festival coming in April

 

April 16-23, 2016. This year’s festival includes over 50 of groundbreaking and inspirational films from around the world and some of the most talented wildlife filmmakers working today.

Step into the distant past and visit ancient Glacial Lake Missoula through the lens of the Oculus Rift.  Celebrate the 100th birthday of the National Parks Service with a series of films which will take viewers through America’s legendary outdoor playgrounds. Explore our changing world with several official selections which delve into climate change’s effects on wildlife and our environment.

With dozens of opportunities for exploration, discussion, and insight, this year’s event will bring a world of issues and ideas to our mountain town.

How to Let Go of the World: and Love All the Things Climate Can’t Change with Q&A by Producer Deia Schlosberg and Academy Award nominated Director Josh Fox (Gasland) following the film.

 

Wednesday, April 20th at 7:00pm

El Nino: An Ocean Mystery with Rick Rosenthal at the UC Theater

FREE event at the University of Montana with renowned marine biologist and underwater filmmaker Rick Rosenthal. The multi-media event will explore the impact of El Nino on ocean life and climate.

SEED: The Untold Story with filmmakers Taggart Siegel and John Betz

 

Friday April 22nd - Earth Day!

5:00PM – IWFF Awards Ceremony at Top Hat

6:00PM – Earth Day Party at The Wilma. Join us for a fun family-friendly night to celebrate Earth Day, with a live performance by the Whizpops! followed by two amazing MacGillirvay/Freeman IMAX productions, National Parks Adventure & Humpback Whales.

 

The ever-popular parade and festival is back! Dance, crawl, swing and slither through downtown Missoula as our wildlife parade roars down Higgins Street, ending at Caras Park for WildFest! WildFest 2015: Sunday, April 17th, 12:30-3pm, FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC Enjoy live entertainment, face painting and concessions with your fellow wild animal revelers – plus a fun fun fun FREE concert with The Salamanders.
