The Montana Museum of Art & Culture exhibits the art of WWII, Bataan Death March survivor and Montana artist Ben Steele. Steele's life story is an extraordinary account of survival, forgiveness and reconciliation. Part of the MMAC Permanent Collection, this gift by Ben and Shirley Steele is an important part of Montana's cultural heritage. Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UM, MOLLI course by Dr. James V. Koch, President Emeritus, UM and Old Dominion University titled "WWII in the Pacific", 9 - 10:30am Thursdays, October 13 - November 17.

Thursday, October 27th at 7pm, lecture and book signing by Michael and Elizabeth M. Norman, authors of the New York Times Best Selling book Tears in the Darkness, PAR TV Center Montana Theater with special guest Ben Steele.
Thursday, November 10th at 5:15pm, Humanities Montana Speakers Bureau program "War Poetry: Poetry is in the Pity" by Lisa Simon, UM Professor of English, in observance of Veterans Day in the PAR TV Center Montana Theatre.
Tuesday, November 15th at 7pm, lecture and film "The Tragedy of Bataan" produced by Jan Thompson, Southern Illinois University-Carbondale Associate Professor and President of the Descendants Group Auxiliary of the American Defenders of Bataan & Corregidor. The film is narrated by Alec Baldwin. In the PAR TV Center Masquer Theater in cooperation with Montana Broadcast Media Center. |
