Bozeman Symphony presents Tchaikovksy's No. 6
August 30, 2011

The Bozeman Symphony, conducted by Matthew Savery, will perform Tchaikovsky’s passionate and dramatic Symphony No. 6, op. 74, B minor on Saturday, September 24 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, September 25 at 2:30 PM at the Willson Auditorium located on Main Street in Bozeman, Montana. This fantastic opening to the Bozeman Symphony’s 44th concert season also features renowned pianist Spencer Myer performing Concerto, Piano, No. 2 by Camille Saint-Saëns on the Symphony’s Steinway model D Grand piano.

The passion and drama of the Romantic Period are on full display in this thrilling opening to the Bozeman Symphony’s 44th concert season. Music Director and Conductor Matthew Savery describes the program with perfect clarity: “We begin with Glinka’s brilliantly orchestrated and exuberant Overture to Russlan and Ludmilla. Next, after his stunning Bozeman Symphony debut in 2009 and his equally successful appearance on our recital series last season, we’ll welcome back Spencer Myer, gold medalist from the 2008 New Orleans International Piano Competition, performing the virtuosic and universally adored second piano concerto of Camille Saint-Saëns. Finally we’ll present Tchaikovsky’s crowning achievement; the deeply profound Symphony No. 6, better known as the Pathetique.”

These performances would not be possible without strong community support and sponsorship. Saturday’s performance is sponsored by Edward Jones Investments. Sunday’s performance is sponsored by J. David & Rose Ann Penwell. This concert weekend’s soloist is sponsored by Montana Expressions.

Tickets are available for purchase online at www.bozemansymphony.org or by phone at 585-9774. Adult tickets start at just $25.00. Student discounts are available.
