After school programs begin with the Zootown arts council in Missoula
August 30, 2011

The best thing about the end of summer? YAAP - the Young Artists Afterschool Program - is just heating up at the Zootown Arts Council in Missoula.

Classes start on September 12 and are available for young artists between the ages of 6 and 16. Based on a nationally-recognized arts education model, YAAP promotes the artistic and creative intellectual development of children. (and it's really fun, too!)

Classes can be paid for individually or up to 10 at a time - members receive a discount, and full and partial scholarships are available. Know a kid who needs something to do after school, or who just loves art? YAAP program participants will:
engage in conversations about creativity
explore media and its uses
participate in events, parades, and community projects
play with ZACC's golden retreiver mascot, Hobbes The Wonder Dog
express themselves
make art and have a blast!

Classes are available Monday through Friday and include a healthy after school snack. To check out the full schedule, read more, and sign up for classes online, visit the YAAP program webpage.
