Hatch Fest opens seventh year in Bozeman September 23, 2010
Bozeman's Hatch Fest film festival enters its seventh year tonight in Bozeman.
The annual festival combines workshops on film, music, design, architecture and journalism with film screenings and live music. Hatch Fest events start at 10 p.m. at the Emerson Center for the Arts and Culture.
Hatch Fest has evolved over the years, founder Yarrow Kraner said. But with a focus on mentorship, organizers found that that style was off-putting to the public it hoped to attract.
Rodrigo Prieto, an Oscar nominated cinematographer for Brokeback Mountain and Hillman Curtis, will be among the speakers at Hatch Fest. He was named one of the top-10 Web designers in the world by an industry group.
One of the films being shown at the festival is "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps," the sequel to director Oliver Stone's 1987 film about a dirty investor. Also being screened is "Exporting Raymond," a film about the maker of sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond" and how a Russian-language version of the show was created. |
